Sagami Bay Yellowfin Ebing for Beginners

On Sagami Bay, ebing has become the standard bait-imitating technique for yellowfin tuna. Devised by Masaumi Murakoshi, the key is a "system" of metal jig, straight spreader, leader, hook and worm that gets fish to bite. I'm hooked on it myself, so I've organized my recommendations by role to help first-timers put a setup together without getting lost.

The Ebing Rig at a Glance
PE line → straight spreader (tenbin) → metal jig (sinker and attractor) / beyond the spreader, leader + hook + worm. The jig takes the rig down and you jerk it, the spreader prevents tangles, and the trailing worm gets the bite — that's the basic structure of ebing. Start by gathering each part.

Ebing only really works when the rod, jig, spreader, rig and worm all work together. I recommend starting with the Saltiga Ebing rod + a Murajig + a ready-made rig, then swapping worms and leaders to suit conditions once you're comfortable. Give Sagami Bay's summer star — yellowfin tuna — a try.
